  • VHF equipment capable of
    a) transmit/receive DSC alerts on CH70,
    b) maintaining continous watch on CH70 and
    c) radiotelephony
  • NAVTEX Receiver
    - sufficient if sailing area permanently within NAVTEX coverage
  • Inmarsat EGC or HF NBDP Receiver
    where service is provided
    - for areas with no NAVTEX coverage
  • 406 MHz EPIRB or Inmarsat L-band EPIRB
    - for areas with Inmarsat coverage only
  • 9 GHz SART, 2 pcs.
    - for vessels < 500 GRT: 1 SART only
  • Portable VHF radio, 3 pcs. ;
    - for vessels up to 500 GRT: 2 units only
