SAM Electronics Exhibits at Seatrade Cruise Shipping Miami 2011
Hamburg, February 10, 2011 SAM Electronics and its associated
L-3 Marine & Power Systems companies, APSS, Valmarine and G.A.
International, are exhibiting an extensive range of systems and services for
cruiseship applications within the German Pavilion in Hall A, Booth 959-07, at
Seatrade Cruise Shipping Miami 2011, which runs March 1417. Also,
exhibiting in Hall B, Booth 1622, is L-3’s recent acquisition, FUNA
International, a global provider of AV, broadcast, CCTV, communications,
control, digital signage, fire safety, architectural and entertainment lighting,
network/IP, public address, and satellite and security solutions.
The group of companies will demonstrate NACOS (Integrated Navigation and
Control System) and VALMATIC Platinum™, L-3’s newest vessel control
system, which offers unprecedented levels of scalability for navigation and
automation applications for new builds as well as retrofits. The series is based
on modular components and utilizes a common network for enhanced levels of
operational safety and convenience. Several systems have already been
ordered, including two new Norwegian Fjord Line cruise ferries due for delivery
in 2012.
At the show, SAM Electronics will also showcase its proven energy and drive
capabilities, including advanced diesel electric propulsion assemblies with
power ratings ranging from 1 MW to 25 MW. These assemblies ensure
optimum levels of safety as a result of their innovative frequency converter
design, as well as redundant assembly layouts. Among the latest orders are
systems for two new 141,000-gt liners under construction for Princess
Cruises.
