SAM Electronics Exhibits at Cruise Shipping Miami 2010

HAMBURG, 8 March 2010 – SAM Electronics is pleased to announce that it
will present its latest integrated navigation and propulsion solutions for the
cruise market in booth 2379 at Seatrade Cruise Shipping Miami 2010 to be
held March 15–18. Also exhibiting at the show are other divisions within L-
3’s Marine & Power Systems Group, including APSS, Italy; L-3 Valmarine,
Norway; L-3 ELAC Nautik, Germany and L-3 G.A. International, USA.

SAM Electronics will be displaying its newest vessel control system, the
NACOS (Navigation Automation Control System) Platinum Series. NACOS
Platinum is a complete series of next-generation navigation, automation and
control systems, offering a full range of functionality for vessels – with
unprecedented levels of usability and scalability. The entire suite is based on
standardized hardware and software components and utilizes a common
network that supports vessel Radarpilot, Ecdispilot, Trackpilot and Conning
displays, as well as the Alarm, Monitoring and Control System; Propulsion
Control System; Power Management System and more.

Live demonstrations of SAM Electronics’ new NACOS Platinum Series,
which is also ideally suited for retrofits, will be presented at the booth.

All products within the new series are developed with user-centered design
principles to provide a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is intuitive,
transparent and completely consistent across the product line. The system’s
exceptional user interface and simplicity of operation enable the crew to
concentrate on operating the ship safely without any undue distraction or
stress.

In addition, SAM Electronics' energy and drive capabilities will be on display
with diesel electric propulsion systems from 1 MW up to 25 MW. The
operation and control of the systems ensure a high degree of safety thanks
to the unique design of the frequency converters and the redundant system
layout. With their proven performance, system configurations are being
actively supplied to cruise liners ordered by Seabourn Cruises and Silversea
Cruises, as well as mega yachts.
