On modern cutter suction dredger vessels the specific dredging
devices are designed with electric drives as all electric ship
as e.g.:
n Submersible and inboard dredge pumps,
n Cutter head at the suction inlet,
n Jet pump for jet water to cutter,
n Main and thruster propulsion to drive and manoeuvre the
dredging vessel,
n Side and ladder winches to move of the vessel and the ladder
during dredging operation.
