Battery Chargers

Assured DC power supply as reserve source of energy for radio
installations not only on GMDSS ships requires serviceable
batteries with reliable operating chargers.

DEBEG battery chargers have been employed for many years for
this purpose and are produced for a wide range of applications, as
well as to meet special requirements. They are used under
demanding conditions on ships, in offshore and pipeline stations
and operate in some cases under extreme environmental
conditions, in high relative humidity and at ambient temperatures
from –15 C to +55 C.

DEBEG 9217

The new automatic I/U charging unit DEBEG 9217 is designed for
fully automatic trickle/float charging of lead-acid and NiCd batteries.
It fulfills the applicable annexes of IMO´s COMSAR Circular 16
"Guidelines on the configuration of the reserve Source or Sources
of Energy used to supply Radio Installations on GMDSS Ships" as
well as VDE, DIN and GL regulations.

The DEBEG 9217 can be used as uninterruptable power supply
(UPS) due to its charging capacity which is high enough to keep
the radio battery charged as well as to supply a radio station with
an MF/HF 250 W PEP transmitter in parallel.

DEBEG 9218

The new automatic I/U charging unit DEBEG 9218 is designed
for fully automatic trickle/float charging of lead-acid and NiCd
batteries. It fulfills the applicable annexes of IMO´s COMSAR
Circular 16 "Guidelines on the configuration of the reserve
Source or Sources of Energy used to supply Radio Installations
on GMDSS Ships" as well as VDE, DIN and GL regulations.

With the DEBEG 9218 GMDSS stations with MF/HF radios of up
to 600 W PEP RF power may be used in the parallel mode or is
able to charge radio battery packs with a capacity for 6 hours
emergency operation.
